The Galleria itself is Houston's best-known shopping center, and the surrounding blocks add Uptown Park, strip centers, supermarkets and pharmacies. Dining ranges from quick lunch spots used by office workers to steakhouses and date-night restaurants along Post Oak Boulevard and Westheimer. River Oaks District and the shops of Highland Village are a short drive east. Inside the Galleria you'll find department stores, designer boutiques, restaurants and an indoor ice rink.
The West Loop (I-610) runs along the east edge of Uptown, with US-59/I-69 to the south and I-10 (Katy Freeway) to the north. Westheimer Road and San Felipe Street are the main east-west streets. METRO buses, including dedicated lanes along Post Oak Boulevard, serve the district, but most extended-stay guests keep a car. Drive times depend heavily on the hour, so we suggest checking your commute at rush hour before choosing a building.
