Housing a Project Team in Houston: Furnished Apartments for Crews, Consultants and Rotating Staff

Updated: 3 days ago

To house a project team in Houston, start with the job site, not the hotel map. Choose the area closest to where people will work each day, such as Downtown, Galleria/Uptown, the Energy Corridor and CityCentre, Greenway Plaza or Midtown. Then work out how many apartments and bedrooms the roster needs. Furnished apartments suit crews and consultants because every unit has a full kitchen, an in-unit washer and dryer, utilities and Wi-Fi included, and free parking in a shared gated garage. Send us dates, headcount and billing needs, and we match apartments to your schedule.

Why project teams use furnished apartments instead of hotel rooms

A project team in Houston for a buildout, an implementation, an audit or a plant turnaround usually needs more than a hotel room. People want to cook their own meals, wash work clothes without a laundromat run, and come back to the same place every evening. Each apartment we place comes with:

  • Furniture for the living, dining and sleeping areas

  • A full kitchen with cookware, dishes, utensils and housewares

  • Bed linens and bath towels

  • An in-unit washer and dryer

  • Utilities and Wi-Fi, included in your quote

  • Free parking in a shared gated garage

Some things are not part of the apartment unless we confirm them in writing for your booking: housekeeping, airport transportation, grocery delivery and a smart TV. If your team needs any of these, say so in your first message. Our guide to what's included in a Houston furnished apartment covers the details.

Step 1: Map the job sites before you pick a neighborhood

Houston is spread out, and the same drive can take very different times at 7 a.m. and at noon. Before you choose an area, put every job site or client office into a map app and check the drive at your team's real start time. Then match the apartments to the sites:

Downtown

Downtown is Houston's central business district. The METRORail Red Line runs along Main Street through Downtown, which helps teams that work in office towers or move between Downtown and Midtown. See furnished apartments in Downtown Houston.

Galleria and Uptown

The Uptown Houston District describes the area around Post Oak Boulevard and the Galleria as one of the largest business districts in the country outside a downtown, with about 2,000 companies. It is a good base for consultants with client meetings along Post Oak. See furnished apartments near the Galleria and Uptown.

Energy Corridor and CityCentre

The Energy Corridor runs along I-10 (the Katy Freeway) in west Houston. The Energy Corridor District says it is home to offices of some of the world's largest energy companies, along with engineering and construction firms. For west-side campuses and project offices, start with furnished apartments in the Energy Corridor.

Greenway Plaza and Midtown

Greenway Plaza sits along I-69 inside the 610 Loop, roughly 5 miles west of Downtown and 3 miles east of Uptown, so it can work as a central base when a team splits its time between the two. Midtown, just south of Downtown and on the Red Line, suits schedules that lean toward Downtown. See Greenway Plaza furnished apartments and Midtown Houston furnished apartments.

Step 2: Plan the unit mix and the roster

Decide who gets a private apartment and who will share. A common setup is a one-bedroom for leads and supervisors and two-bedroom apartments for crew members who share, but the right mix comes down to your policy and budget. For each apartment, note:

  • How many people will sleep there, and how many bedrooms that requires

  • How many vehicles will park there, so we can confirm parking spaces with your quote

  • Any pets on the roster (non-aggressive pets are allowed)

  • Any accessibility needs

If keeping the team close together matters, tell us. We check current inventory for your dates and let you know which apartments are open in the same building or the same area.

Step 3: Plan for staggered arrivals and rotations

Project teams rarely arrive on the same day. Send each person's move-in date and expected move-out date, even if the end date is only a best guess. If one apartment will pass from one person to the next during a rotation, say so up front so we can confirm how the changeover will work. Remember that housekeeping between occupants is not included unless it is confirmed in writing for that booking.

Schedules slip. If the project might run long, tell us as early as you can so we can check whether an extension is possible for the same apartment.

Step 4: Set up billing once

Name one billing contact and one on-site contact, so questions do not bounce between the project lead, HR and accounts payable. We can invoice the company when the stay qualifies for direct bill. Our guide on how HR books corporate housing in Houston with direct bill has a full checklist for PO numbers, cost centers and invoice fields.

What to send in your first inquiry

  • Job site or office address for each part of the team

  • Headcount, and who will share an apartment

  • Each person's arrival and departure dates, or an open-ended window

  • Bedrooms, vehicles and pets for each apartment

  • Billing: company invoice or traveler pay, plus any PO or cost-center details

Project team housing FAQ

Can the whole team stay in the same building?

Sometimes, but that comes down to what is open for your dates, so tell us early if it matters. We will show you what is available in one building and nearby.

How long can a project team stay?

We plan stays around your project dates. If the schedule changes, ask about an extension as soon as you know.

Is housekeeping included?

No. Housekeeping is not part of the apartment unless it is confirmed in writing for your booking.

Are utilities and Wi-Fi included?

Yes. Utilities and Wi-Fi are included, so nobody on the team has to open accounts.

Can the company pay by invoice?

Yes, when the stay qualifies for direct bill. Share your billing contact and PO details with your first request.
